Hexcel Roussillon

Roussillon, France

Hexcel Roussillon is a PAN and carbon fiber production site which opened in 2018 and currently employs 120 people. It is located in Roussillon in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.

Hexcel Roussillon manufactures PAN (PolyAcryloNitrile) precursor - a raw material for the manufacture of carbon fibers. This feeds the carbon fiber manufacturing line which supports AIRBUS programs like the A350 XWB primary structures (composed of 53% of composite materials), and the LEAP engine from CFM International, a supplier of fan blades and carbon casing for the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX

€200 million have been invested in this site as part of an investment program which launched in 2008. The project aims to secure the global supply chain for the growing aerospace industry.
