Epoxy and bismaleimide (BMI) adhesives

HexBond® Film Adhesives 

Epoxy and bismaleimide (BMI) adhesives supplied in film format can be supplied in a range of areal weight presentations. Film adhesives require elevated temperatures (120 °C/180 °C) and pressure to form high-performance bonded joints. 
As high‑performance structural adhesives, they are well‑suited for bonding both metal and composite substrates, as well as for sandwich assemblies. They offer reliable performance and are easy to handle, lay-up, and kit, making them ideal
for large‑part manufacturing in both primary and secondary structures. Hexcel provides
established, industry recognized product options offering various benefits, including high service temperature capability, shear and peel performance, enhanced toughness. 
Foaming adhesives

HexBond® Foaming Adhesive Films 

Foaming adhesives, sometimes also referred to as core splice adhesives, are supplied in high‑areal‑weight sheets. When cured at elevated temperature (120°C/180°C), they expand making them ideal for filling gaps created by non-uniform edges and splice joining honeycomb sections. Hexcel’s foaming adhesive range offers flexible processing options with expansion ratios from 120% to 220%.

HexBond® Primers 

HexBond® primers protect pretreated metal surfaces prior to bonding and ensure maximum bond durability. They protect pretreated metal surfaces before bonding and help ensure long‑term bond durability. HexBond® primers are formulated to deliver maximum performance when used with their corresponding HexBond® film adhesives. All HexBond® primers are free from chromium compounds. 
HexBond® pastes adhesives

HexBond® Paste Adhesives 

HexBond® paste adhesives are two‑component bulk resin systems supplied either in kits or convenient cartridges, cartridges eliminating the need for hand mixing and facilitating targeted and controlled dispense. HexBond® paste adhesives are ideal for complex, non‑structural applications with the capability to fill gaps and ensure material continuity. The Hexcel portfolio varies from low‑ to high‑viscosity options with good tolerance to both substate type and surface‑preparation methods. Performance is balanced for strength in both peel and shear loading, with low density, and service temperatures up to 230°C. Hexcel offers a versatile range for shimming, MRO, potting, edging, bonding brackets or inserts, and impregnation.
